CalEITC Tax Credits: Maximize your tax benefits with CalEITC Tax Credits. The California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) and the Young Child Tax Credit are state tax credits for working Californians. If you qualify, you may see a reduced tax bill or a bigger refund.
 
Free Taxes Merced: The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an IRS-sponsored program that provides qualified individuals free basic tax return preparation.  The VITA program has operated for over 50 years. VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their tax returns, including:
  • People who generally make $58,000 or less
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Limited English-speaking taxpayers
