Community Schools

Le Grand Union High School District is proud to be a Community School District, transforming our schools into vibrant hubs that support the whole child by uniting students, families, and the wider community. We are integrating academics with essential health and social services, youth development, and community engagement — all built upon four core pillars. By fostering these dynamic partnerships, we aim to boost student achievement, strengthen families, and build healthier, more connected communities in Le Grand. The Four Key Pillars of Community Schools
Community schools are built on four key pillars:
Addressing out-of-school barriers to learning through partnerships with social service agencies and coordinated access to health, mental health, and other services.
Shared decision-making among educators, families, students, and community partners to guide school planning and improvement.
Actively engaging parents, caregivers, and community members as partners in student success and school improvement.
Offering before- and after-school programs, summer learning, and enrichment aligned with student interests and needs.
